Welcome to the smallest of the JSGIF regions with the largest of hearts.

Jain Social Groups Int. Federation is the largest organization in the world that encompasses the four sects of Jains and spreads the motto of BANDHUTVA SE PREM. The tenet WALK TOGETHER, TALK TOGETHER, ACT WITH ONE MIND has been the driving force for the 53rd year now and is being promoted world wide by more than 438 groups having a presence of more than 65,000 members across not only the Indian boundaries, but also overseas in the European, American and African continents as also in the Middle East and Far East.

These groups are dividend into various regions namely, Bombay, Maharashtra, South, North, Central, Gujarat, Saurashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Indore, East and Overseas. The main objective of the organization is to promote fellowship and fraternity among members, to strive for their progress and prosperity and to foster unity and propagate the fundamental principles of Jainism. MANGALYATRA, an in house publication in English, Gujarati and Hindi, highlights the activities and programs undertaken at various levels of the organization.
The organization has a very well extended family of SANGINI an all ladies offshoot as well as the only teenager membership titled YUVA FORUM as well as a GENNEXT group that lists young couples below the age of 40 as it’s members. Apart from this a myriad of other activities in the social, entertainment, educational, training, sports are undertaken at all levels of the organizational structure. There is a biennial conference that awards the outstanding achievers not only from within the organization but also from the society.

The South Region is the smallest of the 11 Regions in The Jain Social Groups International Federation in terms of area. It consists of the five states of Southern India, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Telangana.
The formation of South Region in the JSGIF started when the first Jain Social Group was established in Bangalore under the very able leadership of Shri Dineshbhai H. Shah in the year 1979. It was the 11th group in the Federation. The movement gathered momentum and Jain Social Groups were formed in Southern state cities with a sizable Jain population. In 1980 with the support and inspiration from the Bangalore Group, Jain Social Group – Hyderabad under the leadership of the dynamic Shri Dhirajlal K. Vora was formed. It was the 18th group in the Federation as the JSG movement slowly began to spread to other parts of the country also. The Hyderabad group then took the initiative to form a group in Madras. The Madras Main group (Group No:22) was started in 1981 and Shri Rasiklal C. Badani was the founder President.

In 1981 a Jain Social Group was also started in Secunderabad and Shri Dinesh C. Banker was installed as the first President. The next group (Group No:35) was formed in the city of Madurai in Tamilnadu under the leadership Shri Damji P. Sangoi. The Coimbatore group was the next to be formed in Tamilnadu with Shri Kumar L. Bhimani as President in the year 1983.
The year 1983 also saw the formation two more groups and this time in the state of Kerala which has the least population of Jains in South India. Jain Social Group Cochin (Group No.40) was formed with Shri Abhay Lalan as President and Group No.42 Jain Social Group Calicut was formed with Shri Sumati Chandra Mehta as President. A second group, was formed in Madras, Jain Social Group Madras Central (Group No: 55) with Dr. Kantilal A Kamdar as President in the year 1985. Next to join the JSG movement was Vijayawada (Group No:177) in the year 1997 with Shri Prakash F. Modi as President. The first Group to join the JSG movement in the 21st century was again at Chennai formerly known as Madras. Chennai Elite was formed with Shri Satish C. Shah as President in the year 2010. A few days before after an interval of 7 years, we are witnessing the launch of the 12th group on 08 May 2017 titled JSG Bengaluru East under the stewardship of Shri Manav Jain thanks to the efforts of JSGIF International Director, Shri Amish Kiran Doshi.
Though the groups are spread apart geographically, South Region is one of the premier regions of the Federation, contributing handsomely in all activities of the Federation.
Welcome to the smallest of the JSGIF regions with the largest of hearts.
Welcome to the vastly geographically divergent regions of JSGIF.
South region has attained an enviable position at the Federation level. People who have made us proud are enumerated below. A list of luminaries have graced the South Region chair too and it is indeed a happy moment that we will now be recording this for posterity and shall keep on adding to the list as years go by.
